About Me

I am currently Assistant Professor of International Studies at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. I conduct research and teach courses on IR, foreign policy, and international conflict.
My research agenda centers around international relations with a focus on security cooperation. My dissertation looks at multinational military exercises, also known as war games. Over three chapters, it explores the conditions under which exercises take place; micro-level effects of exercises as forms of public diplomacy; and how exercises disseminate military culture and norms like respect for human rights. My other research interests include United States Foreign Policy, Monte Carlo methods, and hierarchical relationships.

Previously, I held a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Arizona as part of the Aspiring Powers Initiative under the direction of Dr. Dmitriy Nurullayev. Before that, I defended my dissertation at the University of Texas at Austin in December 2023. And before that, I was Managing Editor of the journal Conflict Management and Peace Science.
Prior to UT, I was a database analyst at a public affairs firm in Washington, DC. Before that, I earned my BA in Mathematics and Political Science from Emory University.
I also enjoy ultimate frisbee, kayaking, and helping my dog get the ball from under the couch.
